Hyper-V Server or Server Core Command Prompt Window

Problem:
You’ve closed your command prompt window on Hyper-V Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 Core Installation and need to re-open it:
blankscreen

Solution:
Start Windows Task Manager by pressing Ctrl & Shift & Esc. Click File>New Task:
taskmanager

Type cmd.exe and click ok:
run

You now have a new command prompt window:
cmd

Also works if you have a RDP connection to the server. However you need to be running in full screen mode for the key combination to be sent to the server not your local machine. (Assuming that is the way that you have your options set.)

I was in an RDP session and found Control-Alt-End to work.
